What started out as three friends learning felt making over coffee, has become our lifestyle. What do we all have in common? We have all rescued objects from the fate of landfill, lovingly stored them for years and now have the desire to make something with them.We all felt the need to revitalise lost arts and "honour our gifts" as designers and makers. We called ourselves Skip Sisters alluding to our shameless pleasure in searching the skips of South London for raw materials and the name has stuck. Now as a group of five, projects have extended to (amongst other things) sculptural objects, clocks, jewellery and textiles. The Skip Sisters in alphabetical order are: Julia Burnett, Edori Fertig, Liz Honeybone, Pia Randall-Goddard and Helen Turner. Angie Van Manen a founder member of the group has now sadly left the Skip Sisters and moved to New Zealand.
